Sitting in the beautiful Tuscan countryside and recently restored, Borgo di Tignano is the perfect place for discerning visitors. It is ideal for combining visits to the cultural centers of Tuscany with relaxing by the large swimming pool, or enjoying a peaceful walk in the nearby forests and nature reserves. After a visit to lovely towns like Volterra and Casole d'Elsa, you can finish the day at the bbq with a nice glass of wine, while preparing your Florentine steak.
The actual Borgo di Tignano is a rural residence which dates back to the 16th century. Its name, however, has Roman origins. It is the probable birth place, in the 4th century, of Saint Attinia, a venerated saint from the Volterra area.
The owners pride themselves on presenting simple yet carefully cooked meals, with a place special emphasis on vegetarian dishes. The characteristic ‘Osteria’, which used to hold the old olive press, is the ideal place for a romantic candlelight dinner overlooking the amazing countryside, or a light lunch on the panoramic terrace.
